Some recent scientific research indicates that steady state cardio endurance training may not be as good a way on how to get rid of fat as previously thought. Our bodies are not designed for steady pace movement, they are designed to perform physical activity in bursts of exertion followed by a recovery period, stop and go. Another fact is that humans are the only creatures on the planet that even attempt to do endurance physical activities.

How to Get Rid of Fat

As an example of the different effects of endurance training verses stop and go training, you only have to look at the different types of runners. Marathon runners are often emaciated and sickly looking, where as the sprinters look lean, muscular and powerful. Who would you rather look like?

Scientists also know that excessive steady state cardio increases free radical production in the body, can degenerate joints, causes muscle wasting and reduces immune functions. Highly variable, interval intensity training is linked to anti-oxidant production and a more efficient nitric oxide response. This can encourage a healthy cardiovascular system and in increase in the metabolism encouraging you to lose lose more weight. Yet another health benefit from interval training is that unlike steady cardio it trains your heart to respond at different rates and will therefore respond to everyday stresses much better.

The most important aspect of interval training is the recovery period between bursts of exertion, this is crucial for the body to create a healthy response to an exercise stimulus.

Variable intensity or interval training is also much, much more interesting than stomping on a treadmill and so has a much lower drop out rate.

How to Get Rid of Fat Summary

In summary it is easy to see some of the benefits of interval training in comparison to steady state endurance cardio; reduced risk for wear and tear, reduced muscle wasting, improved cardiovascular health, increased anti-oxidant protection, improved immunity functions, increased metabolic rate following exercise and a heart that is ready and able to handle life’s everyday stress with ease. There are so many ways out there to get the benefits of interval training and you can easily apply it to your workouts. Hill sprints or wind sprints are the ultimate interval training exercise and are how to get rid of fat quickly. If you are in good enough shape to sprint then you should always sprint instead of jogging. This is just how to get rid of fat and your body will look so much better for it! For a great workout you can do almost anywhere and one of my favorites, try running between 6-12 full speed sprints for around 50-100 yards and take a 30-90 second rest between each one.

Another incredible interval style workout which is just how to get rid of fat and really stimulate the fat burning hormonal response in the body is hill sprinting. If you have a hill near your house, then this exercise is simply running up that hill as fast as you can for 30 yards. When you get there turn around and walk back down to the start and use this walk as the recovery period, then turn and sprint back up again. After about 10 minutes of these intervals you will find this a VERY intense workout and way more effective than a 40-50 minute cardio section and quite simply, this is how to get rid of fat!
